Some objects arrive already knowing who they are.

This antique brass medallion is one of them. Its cartouche-shaped frame — stepped, scrolled at the corners, and etched with fine dotted borders — speaks the language of another era with complete confidence. At its center, a raised silver pinwheel motif turns against the warm gold ground, the contrast between the two metals giving the piece an unexpected depth and modernity.

The brass stampings originate from 1960s France, pressed and detailed with a craftsmanship that simply isn't made anymore. Jazmine Giovanni has assembled them into something wholly new — suspending the medallion from a pavé gunmetal bead and finishing it on an 18" 14K triple plate gold rolo chain that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs.

Close enough to vintage to carry history. Fresh enough to wear tonight.
