Revere Eight Model 80 Vintage Movie Camera USB Lamp
Founded in 1920 by Samuel Briskin as Excel Radiator Co., the Revere Camera Company began making 8mm movie cameras in 1939 and went on to become one of the great American success stories. Revere cameras were touted as being high quality at low cost — a combination that made them a fixture in American living rooms and home movie reels for two decades.
This Revere Eight Model 80 never made it to the cutting room. Instead, it found its way to the workshop of Rick Held of Two Loose Tools in Southern California, who gave it a second life as a sculptural table lamp — its distinctive two-tone body, spring-wound mechanism, and chrome lens still fully intact, mounted on a polished chrome stem above a sleek black USB base. The original wiring loops the stem like a period detail too good to remove. A black shade with warm gold interior crowns the whole composition.
Functional, storied, and entirely one of a kind.
